Reality Television

Alright now, I must tell you about my passionate hate for reality tv.
I just don't get it!!!!!
-Why watch reality tv? Is it just for people who can't deal with there own reality therefore must live vicariously through other people's publicised lives? When I watch a reality television show, I see the same thing over and over again. Rich, barely 18 y/o's, or rich celebrities. It seems to me the point of this phenomenon is to show off how much money someone has, or how many material possesions one can accumulate, for the purpose of making all viewers jealous, and covet them and their lives. For example take E!'s shows like Denise Richards, or Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The only thing that these shows prove is that a celebrity is JUST THE SAME AS REGULAR OLD ME OR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it gives them a way to show off, and accumulate even more money (that God knows they don't need and won't contribute it to people who are in need of financial help, or even to a incurable disease). But probably the biggest thing is that it proves is that they are SNOBS!! I mean think about it people!!! Probably 75% of these "reality shows" are scripted.

-Not to go all conservative on you but probably only 1 out of 8 reality shows depicts a good role model. A lot of these people got these shows because they were involved in a scandal!!! Whether it have been drugs, sex, or there latest stay in rehab!!!

-Ok I am going to drift for a moment here but it's kind of along the same lines. What happened to Hollywood? All you here about is all the celebrities with drug problems, alcohol problems, or the release of a new sex tape! These people are in the public eye (and if they don't know it they are more zonked out then any of us could imagine) yet they continue to get arrested for driving drunk, while being the star of the latest Disney movie. Or they keep doing drugs to achieve the "Hollywood Perfectness". Yes I will admit there are a few good role models out there, but there good work is always overshadowed by the problem celeb. And that is just a shame! O and another thing that bothers me is when celebrities complain about the paparzzi! You knew about them before you came to Hollywood so what right do you have to complain about something that you already had prior knowledge of?

-Ok back to reality tv. The #1 channel that I am completley fed up with is good old MTV. Some of you may not know this but MTV does not stand for Mindless Television, it is supposed to stand for Music Television. Now days the only time you see music on that channel is for a hour on TRL or past 3am! The other 17 hours are devoted to Reality Tv. The absolute dumbest show is, well actually I can't decide between The Hills or Laguna Beach. I'm sorry real Americans are NOT like this!!!!!! Traveling around it a car more expensive than the average home, laying by a heated pool, or taking vacations to God knows where when your not even old enough to buy cigarettes!!!

-Again as with the role models, I will admit there are some good reality shows out there. Take The Biggest Loser! Now that is reality, and it is helping people create a healthy lifestyle!

-O when will the corruption end?!?!? Now TV Land has reality tv!! I mean come on, when I flip through the channels I don't want to see George Foreman and his million kids named George!! I want to see wholesome tv, like The Brady Bunch or I Love Lucy!! Please tell me....will this ever stop?

-That was my rant about reality tv! I can't stand it and have boycotted it, somehow hoping that one less viewer will get them canceled!! ha ha! Thanks for reading it and I hope it made sense to you, and maybe you too will boycott reality tv in your home!! lol!

Hello there!!

Ok so a good friend of mine (Donna) told me to check out her blog and I did, and decided that I would like a blog as well. So here it is!
